Why did Stellantis move?
Written after the close on
Stellantis rose in the last session, likely helped by analyst talk of a fourth-quarter recovery. Over the last five trading days Stellantis was roughly unchanged, moving against a market and a consumer cyclical sector that both rose slightly. The most likely drivers were a mix of cautious analyst notes, a reaffirmed 2026 guidance from the CEO alongside a record low share price, and news that four French plants would halt for several days over a supply shortage. Leapmotor, in which Stellantis holds a stake, reported strong September deliveries and a record third quarter, which may have partly offset the plant shutdown concerns. The next earnings report is due in late October, which is what to watch next.
