Strategy testing

Make the rule and its failure modes visible

Turn an idea into explicit entry, exit, sizing, timing, cost, and data assumptions before interpreting a historical result.

Specify the test

Choose the instrument, range, interval, indicators, signal rules, position logic, costs, and execution assumptions. Saved definitions keep those inputs attached to later results.

Inspect more than the headline

Review trades, drawdowns, exposure, turnover, benchmark context, and the distribution of outcomes. A strong summary statistic can still conceal concentration, sparse observations, or dependence on a short market regime.

Challenge robustness

Walk-forward checks, parameter comparisons, Monte Carlo analysis, and stress scenarios can reveal fragility. They do not eliminate selection bias, data errors, survivorship effects, or differences between modeled and live execution.

Treat results as historical evidence

ChartCompass does not guarantee future performance or determine whether a strategy is suitable for you. Recheck data, assumptions, liquidity, costs, tax, and risk before relying on any result.
