Why did Ericsson stock rise on 6 October?

Ericsson rose sharply on its Cellnex Poland 5G deal. Over the last five trading days Ericsson rose slightly, lagging a clearly higher S&P 500 and a sharply stronger technology sector, with the weekly gain likely helped by that new 5G radio access network contract in Poland and by a trial of network-level AI call translation with Vodafone. The sharp last-session rise most likely reflected that deal news and the AI translation work feeding optimism ahead of next week's third-quarter report, where investors will watch whether AI-driven networking is lifting margins. Buy-back reports were routine background and explain nothing about the size of the move.
